Week long Kwanzaa celebration starts Friday night

The annual week long Kwanzaa celebration that honors African heritage begins Friday night.

In Wilmington a Kwanzaa ceremony will be held at 6:30 Friday evening at the Burnett-Eaton Museum on 7th Street. The celebration will feature candle lighting activities, the pouring of libations along with a feast and gift giving.

Kwanzaa first started in the US back in 1966. Over 18 million Americans celebrate Kwanzaa. 32 million celebrate it world-wide.
