Weekend traffic impacts for Battleship Half Marathon

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The City of Wilmington has announced traffic impacts due to the 27th annual Battleship Half Marathon, 10K & 5K.
The races will take place on Sunday, November 16, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and bring approximately 2,500 participants to the downtown Wilmington area.
The half marathon course begins on Princess Street near the Alton Lennon Federal Building and heads south toward and across the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge, north on US 421 toward and across the Isabel Holmes Bridge, looping back through downtown, and toward and around Greenfield Lake, ending back at Princess Street.
The 10K race follows the same route as the half marathon but turns around on Greenfield Street and heads to the finish line on Princess Street.
The 5K race stays in downtown Wilmington.

Sunday, November 16 beginning at 3:00 a.m.:
- Princess Street between Front Street & Water Street
- Water Street between Princess Street & Chestnut Street
- Chestnut Street between Front Street & Water Street
- Market Street between Front Street & Water Street
- Front Street between Brunswick Street & Red Cross Street
- Front Street between Ann Street & Orange Street
- Hanover Street between Nutt Street & Front Street
- Red Cross Street between Water Street & 2nd Street
- Northbound Front Street between Burnett Boulevard/Carolina Beach Road & Orange Street
- Southbound 2nd Street between Grace Street & Red Cross Street
- Southbound exit ramp to Front Street from Cape Fear Memorial Bridge/Hwy 74/76
- Front Street on ramp to Cape Fear Memorial Bridge/westbound Hwy 74/76
- Greenfield Street between Front Street & 2nd Street
