Mermaids arrive at NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher

KURE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The NC aquarium at Fort Fisher has live mermaids visiting for the next few weeks.

They are the world famous Weeki Wachee Mermaids.

They will be in the 235,000 gallon Cape Fear Shoals habitat with sharks, rays, fish and turtles.

The mermaid shows start today. They will be there this weekend and next weekend.

The mermaids will dive at 10:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m.

Plus, you can meet them!

You can meet a mermaid up close, on dry land throughout the day. Mermaid and pirate-themed activities include a scavenger hunt, photos ops and autograps.

You can buy general aquarium admission tickets for the event online or at the door.
