What luck? St. Pat’s, March Madness equal double dose of fun

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — As luck would have it, there are two reasons to celebrate today. It’s St. Patrick’s Day and the start of March Madness.

Fans of all things Irish and all things hoops are all around downtown, cheering for St. Patrick and their favorite college basketball team.

Heidi Crawford made today a holiday and decided to celebrate at hell’s kitchen in honor of the luck of the irish and today’s tip-off.

“I took a day off of work to have my fifth annual kegs and eggs, always a good start, St. Patty’s Day, enjoying the day, watching some basketball,” Crawford said. “Breakfast and beer and basketball. The three Bs, you know?”

March Madness isn’t just about the NCAA tournament. The Cape Fear Community College men’s basketball team continued its play in the National Junior College Athletic Association National Championship. And the UNCW women open play in the WNIT tonight in Richmond.
