New Hanover Regional Medical Center Foundation is hosting a Red Dress luncheon and fashion show Friday morning at 11:30 a.m. It’s to support the New Hanover Regional Heart Center.

Get jazzed for the North Carolina Jazz Festival.
Concerts Friday and Saturday night are at the Hilton Wilmington Riverside.

It’s a real life candy land this weekend at least, it will be a chocolate one.
The Wilmington Chocolate Festival kicks off Friday night. The chocolate show is Saturday and Sunday at the New Hanover County Senior Center. Hours: Saturday 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Sunday 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Tickets: $8 in advance, $10 at the door.

Help families’ battle cancer with a little bit of laughter.
Laughing for Life II is a charity comedy benefit that raises money for local families.
The PG rated show is Friday night. The R rated version is Saturday.
Shows start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets: $20. You can catch the shows at City Stage at Level 5.

Saturday, the Rocky Point Volunteer Fire Department is holding a BBQ pork or chicken dinner fundraiser. Plates are $6. Hours: 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Heart Strings Music for the Soul, is a concert to raise awareness of heart disease and related illnesses. It’s Sunday at St. Stephen AME Church on Red Cross St. in Wilmington.
It starts at 4 p.m. Tickets: $25.
