Whiteville man arrested in connection to shooting at Saw Mill Apartments

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — A Columbus County man is behind bars following a shooting that happened Monday at the Saw Mill Apartments in Whiteville.

Malik Earl Wilder, 22, was arrested by Whiteville Police Department Wednesday. A spokesman with the department says Wilder shot Darius Jones with a handgun during a fight in the parking lot of the apartment complex. Jones is in stable condition.

Wilder is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. He was given a $10,000 bond. According to online records, Wilder bonded out.
