Whiteville man arrested on attempted murder charges

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — Whiteville Police Department has arrested a man on attempted murder charges.

According to police, officers responded to a call at Kings #1 in the 400 block of  JK Powell Boulevard and found James Walters with a severe laceration to the neck

Officers located Altrell Baldwin, 23, walking along North Martin Luther King Boulevard and took him into custody without incident.

Baldwin has been formally charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder and is currently being held without bond.
