Whiteville police arrest shooting suspect

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) – The Whiteville Police Department has arrested a man wanted for shooting into a vehicle last month.

Police say they obtained warrants to arrest Aaron Bernard Phifer on October 10.

Police say Phifer fired multiple shots, injuring one person.

Phifer is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, carrying a concealed weapon and failure to appear.

Phifer is being held without bond on the assault charge.
