Whiteville Police Officer’s wife arrested on drug charges
Whiteville, NC (WWAY) — The wife of a Whiteville Police Officer faces 15 felony drug charges.
Kari Lynn Pate, 25, was arrested during a Columbus County drug and probation round up yesterday.
She’s the wife of Officer Andrew Pate.
City of Whiteville Spokesman Hal Lowder says Officer Pate resigned yesterday citing ‘personal reasons.’
He had worked for the Whiteville Police Department for 6 1/2 years.
Kari Pate is charged with:
- 1 felony count of Maintaining Vehicle/Dwelling/Place for Use, Sale, or Storage of Controlled Substance
- 1 felony count of Maintaining Vehicle/Dwelling/Place for Use, Sale, or Storage of Controlled Substance
- 1 felony count of Maintaining Vehicle/Dwelling/Place for Use, Sale, or Storage of Controlled Substance
- 4 felony counts of Conspire to Traffic Opium/Heroin
- 4 felony counts of Trafficking Opium or Heroin
- 1 felony count of Possession with the Intent to Manufacture, Sell and/or Deliver Schedule IV Controlled Substance
- 1 felony count of Sell and/or Deliver Schedule IV Controlled Substance
- 1 felony count of Possession with the Intent to Manufacture, Sell and/or Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance
- 1 felony count of Sell and/or Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance
Lowder says, according to Whiteville Police Chief Jeffrey Rosier, there are no allegations or criminal charges against Pate.
Kari Pate is in jail under a $26,000 bond.
