Whole Foods recalls cheese product due to listeria risks


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Whole Foods Market chain announced a recall of one of its cheese products.

The recall, that was posted on their website Wednesday, was a Papillion Organic Roquefort cheese that was cut and packaged in clear plastic wrap and sold with the Whole Foods Market scale labels. Listeria Monocytogenes was discovered by a routine sampling by the FDA in an uncut wheel of the cheese. The scale label begins with PLU 029536, and all sell by dates are affected.

There have been no reports of illness, the company said.
