WHQR will continue to operate on half of last year’s budget

After cutting four key positions last month, Wilmington’s public radio station has mapped out a new plan.

WHQR will continue to operate on almost half of last year’s $670,000 budget. Board member, Jeff Hovis, said in the end, only three people at the station lost their jobs.

He added that listener donations are up since the station announced cuts in December and anticipates the cuts will not have any negative impact on programming.
