WILMA Expo and Holiday Market to collect items for Toys for Tots

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — More than 200 vendors have signed up to participate in the 8th Annual Wilma Expo and Holiday Market taking place in December.

The annual shopping event supports local businesses and is a live version of WILMA magazine.

“Some of the businesses range from health and wellness products and ways to spruce up your home to holiday shopping, so there’s a great variety of businesses and ways to support the local community,” said event organizer Maggi Apel.

Santa Claus will be making an appearance from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. to take photos with children and adults.

Every year, the event organizers partner with Toys for Tots.

“This year after Hurricane Florence, we reached out to them again and we wanted to do something really significant to make sure no children are left behind without any Christmas gifts this year,” Apel said.

When you register online, there is an option for you to make a commitment to bring a toy and your entry fee will be waived.

“It’s one of the largest events for women each year to come out, do some holiday shopping and support local businesses and really get into the holiday spirit,” Apel added.

The event will be held Saturday, Dec. 1, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Wilmington Convention Center located at 515 Nutt Street, Wilmington. Click here for more details.
