Wilmington accidentally takes down pro-ballpark signs

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington city leaders are saying “oops.” The Chamber of Commerce says city employees accidentally removed dozens of political signs supporting the ballpark bond referendum.

Wilmington’s city manager realized the mix-up after supporters claimed more than 70 of their signs had been stolen overnight.

The city says it was miscommunication. It is returning the signs so they can be replaced.
