Wilmington adds ‘First WWII Heritage City’ to welcome signs
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — In Wilmington, you might notice a change on the welcome signs.
These changes come after Wilmington was named the first World War II Heritage City in the nation last September.
The designation commemorates the city’s war effort.
Now, the “Welcome the Wilmington” signs have an extra plaque, announcing it as “America’s First WWII Heritage City.”
