Wilmington Boat Show returns to Port City Marina this weekend
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — There are plenty of sights to see over the next two days as the Wilmington Boat Show is back for a second year.
Wilmington Convention Center, Port City Marina, The Shell and Battleship NC are all working together to put on a family-friendly show that will feature food and live entertainment.
The show runs Friday, September 8 from 12 to 6 p.m. and Saturday, September 9 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Due to the threat of Hurricane Irma, the show will not run on Sunday as originally planned.
Park for free at the USS North Carolina and take a complementary water taxi ride across the Cape Fear River. Then, walk inside the convention center and along the marina to check out vendors and boats of all shapes and sizes.
Captain Don Dingman will host two kids fishing clinics on Saturday. Stop by at 11:30 a.m. or 2:30 p.m. and receive a free rod and reel. It’s in the Ward Room on the Battleship Main Deck. Enter through the Battleship Visitors Center.
Captain Jack Sparrow, Anne Bonny and Mary Read will also make an appearance in Wilmington for the weekend. Hold on to your wallets, hide the rum, and keep your wenches close as you take pictures with Captain Jack and his crew.
