Wilmington bookstore celebrates Harry Potter 20th anniversary

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) — Two decades after its debut, the magic of the Harry Potter books still has people in the Cape Fear spellbound.

Saturday Books-A-Million in Wilmington hosted a Harry Potter event to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

Kids of all ages had fun with trivia, giveaways, potions class and wand-making.

Scholastic, which publishes the series, says more than 400 million copies of the Harry Potter books have been sold in at least 68 languages around the world.
