Wilmington car crash leads to arrest, driver charged with DWI

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A traffic crash Friday afternoon in Wilmington resulted in the driver being arrested.

Wilmington Police say the accident happened near Oleander  and 41 streets when Matthew McBride Jr. crossed over three lanes, jumping the curb and colliding with a power line pole which broke in half. The car then rolled over onto its roof.

McBride was arrested and charged with DWI, Fail to Maintain Lane, Possession of Schedule I, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Injury to Real Property.

No other injuries were reported.
