Wilmington City Council extends time on downtown meters
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — If you think downtown parking meters give too little time and encourage too many tickets, you will be happy with a new Wilmington City Council decision.
At this evening’s City Council meeting, council agreed to convert one-hour on-street parking limits to two-hour time limits on Front Street between Market and Walnut Streets.
The city discussed collection problems at downtown parking decks and raising parking fees, as well as extending the end of meter times from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. These items were continued, and staff plans to give recommendations to the council within the next few months.
