Wilmington considers new process for giving money to community groups

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Non-profit groups and other organizations with an eye for economic development will likely have to go through a new process to ask the City of Wilmington for money.

Council members are considering a multi-step application process civic development partners, like Riverfest and Cucalorus, would need to go through.

The process begins with an application in January as well as a detailed expense plan and proof that the program does or will have a positive economic impact on the city.
