Wilmington cracking down on sweepstakes parlors

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington’s Code Enforcement office is cracking down on sweepstakes parlors still up and running despite laws effectively stopping the businesses.

A letter to sweepstakes owners lets them know they have until February 9 to “cease and desist” or face a $100 fine. The shops also face a $200 fine for more violations.
