Wilmington Cub Scouts sell record amount of popcorn
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — It’s National Popcorn Day and what better way to celebrate than to recognize some special scouts who sold a huge amount of the buttery snack.
Well, other than actually eating it, of course.
Cub Scout Pack 226, based out of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Wilmington, sold $100,000 worth of popcorn this year. That’s $25,000 more than they’ve ever sold before.
The scouts will celebrate this impressive accomplishment with a trip to Camp Kirkwood in Burgaw. They’ll do a polar plunge, led by pack leader Chris Barnett and sales coordinator Lisa Anderson.
A big congratulations from all of us at WWAY!
