Wilmington driver charged after van hits pole, parked car then flips

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A driver faces charges after he flipped his van on Dawson Street in Wilmington this afternoon.

It happened around 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Wilmington Police say the driver, Robert Walker III, was looking down when he hit a utility pole and a parked car forcing his van to flip.

EMS took Walker to New Hanover Regional with minor injuries.

He’s charged with no operators license and careless and reckless driving.
