Wilmington Fire Department responds to woods fire

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Fire Department responded to a woods fire on Friday.

The call came in around 12:30 p.m.

A viewer in the University Commons shopping center off College Road could see a plume of black smoke to the north of the shops.

Around 12:50 p.m., a spokeswoman for the Wilmington Fire Department said the fire had been put out.

The spokeswoman said there were no injuries, and the fire did not endanger any buildings.
