Wilmington fitness center owner accused of sexual assault

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington fitness center owner is facing sexual assault charges.

According to a Wilmington Police spokesperson, a woman reached out to them in early-to-mid December of 2023, alleging Gregory Koenig, owner of the Fitness For Life studio at 5917 Oleander Dr., sexually assaulted her during a treatment.

WPD detectives began the investigation, and then contacted the District Attorney’s office. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the Fitness For Life studio and Koenig’s home.

Following the execution of that warrant, Koenig was arrested and charged with Second Degree Forced Sexual Offense on January 16th.

He was placed under $150,000 bond, but has since posted bond and has been released.
