Wilmington home to one of the world’s incredible model railways

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Railroad Museum was recently recognized for having one of the world’s “most incredible model railways.”

Wilmington’s museum comes in at number 11 on the Fox News list of 12 museums around the world. A museum in Germany was named number one.

Museum Director Mark Koenig says it’s an honor to be recognized for the attractions the museum has to offer.

“They reflect attractions in Germany, England, up in New Jersey a huge layout out there, San Diego and of course we’re very happy to be included among that kind of company,” said Koenig.
