WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The terminal at Wilmington International Airport was evacuated Thursday after airport officials received a reported bomb threat.

Airport officials say they were made aware of the alleged threat and cleared the terminal out of an abundance of caution to ensure everyone’s safety.

The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office bomb squad is now conducting a sweep of the airport to determine the credibility of the threat.

There is no additional information available at this time.

WWAY has a crew on the scene and will have more information as it becomes available.
