New Hanover County man charged in November shooting

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A man is in the New Hanover County jail facing an attempted first degree murder charge.
The Wilmington Police Department says 25-year-old Jabar Armien Ballard was arrested Monday in connection to a shooting that happened on November 30 near Chicc Lady on Market Street. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Ballard is charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, Assault WDWIKISI, Possession of Firearm by a Felon, and Discharge Firearm Occupied, among other charges.
He was given no bond and will have his first court appearance on Tuesday.
