Wilmington man comes close to winning Survivor, Fiji

WILMINGTON — A Wilmington man came close to winning the top prize on Survivor, Fiji.

Twenty-five-year-old Dre “Dreamz” Herd competed on the latest season of the CBS show. He won $100,000 after coming in second during Sunday night’s finale.

Dreamz grew up in Wilmington public housing and says his experiences roughing it as a child helped him succeed on survivor.

Dreamz now works as a cheerleading instructor for the Universal Cheerleading Association.
