Wilmington man dropped off at NHRMC with gunshot wound
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are investigating a shooting that happened early this morning.
According to a news release, officers responded to New Hanover Regional Medical Center around 12:50 a.m. in reference to a gunshot wound victim who had been dropped off at the Emergency Room.
Yuron Washington, 24, of Wilmington, was shot in the stomach and had to undergo emergency surgery.
Police say witnesses told officers they picked Washington up from a Speed Way gas station on Carolina Beach Road, where he was stumbling from behind the businesses. But, police say witnesses later changed their story multiple times.
