Wilmington man pleads guilty in robbery caught on video
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – A Wilmington man is going to prison for robbing a customer at a gas station.
Glenn Boyer, 45, pleaded guilty to Common Law robbery.
Boyer entered the Gas Center at 604 S. College Road on March 11, 2016. Store surveillance video showed Boyer punching a customer he knew, knocking him unconscious, going through the man’s pockets, and stealing $40.
The victim’s injuries required reconstructive surgery.
Judge Phyllis Gorham sentenced Boyer to at least 7 years in prison.
Judge Gorham also ordered Boyer to pay $15,266,63 in restitution to the victim for medical bills.
Boyer’s prior convictions include felony drug convictions, Forgery, Felony Larceny, and Felony Flee to Elude Arrest.
