Wilmington named hotspot for relocation

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — It’s no big surprise that Wilmington is a hotspot for people to move to from around the country.

Thumbtack.com said it’s the number two city in America where people are relocating, trailing only Hilton Head. Experts said other factors like jobs, education, and attractions also influence movers.

Colleen Lux and her family moved to the city a little more than year ago from Missouri, and she said there’s no where else she would want to live than Wilmington.

“They have great food, and they have wonderful people and just so many options as far as inexpensive things to do,” Lux said. “It’s just very laid back, and it’s just a comfortable place to be.”

Scott Czechlewski with the Chamber of Commerce said bringing in more job opportunities is important to the city and the goal is to continue to make Wilmington an attractive place for businesses and their employees for years to come.
