Wilmington police arrest man accused of firing shots, hiding gun in toilet

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – A man accused of walking around and shooting a gun near Houston Moore faces several charges.

Wilmington police responded to the 1600 block of South 15th Street just before 6:30 p.m.  When officers arrived, they  were walking around the area trying to find the suspect.

Police say they heard a gunshot from the southeast side of Houston Moore. That’s when they spotted Bryan Davis, 29, running into into a home on South 15th Street.

Officers surrounded the home.

Police say Davis eventually came out peacefully.

The homeowner was not there at the time. Police spoke with the woman, who said she did not know Davis. She gave police permission to search the home.

Inside, officers noticed the bathroom floor was wet and the toilet moved.

Police say they found a revolver wrapped in a plastic bag inside the toilet.

Davis was charged with burglary, discharging a gun in the city limits, going armed to the terror of the public, among other charges.

He was given a $50,000 bond.
