Wilmington Police investigating armed robbery at Han-Dee Hugo’s

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Officials are investigating a Sunday morning armed robbery at a gas station on Carolina Beach Road.

Linda Rawley Thompson, a spokeswoman for the Wilmington Police Department, says just after 6:30 a.m., two men entered the store at 1746 Carolina Beach Rd. with guns.

The clerk reportedly went outside to call 911; however, he said he was unable to tell if the suspects were still in the store.

When police arrived they surrounded the store but could not find the men. A cash drawer was missing from the business.
