Wilmington Police investigating late-night murder

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are investigating after a deadly shooting late Tuesday night.

It happened just after 11:15 p.m. in the 3500 block of Metting Road. Police said they responded to a call of a fight but found a gunshot victim in the parking lot. Police said Carlton Walker Whitley, 25, later died at the hospital from those injuries.

Police said no arrests have been made in the shooting.
