Wilmington Police investigating robberies


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are investigating two robberies that occurred  Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.

The first robbery occurred on the 300 block of Williamston Drive shortly after 1 a.m. this morning. A 25-year-old male was walking when two black males approached him asking for food. The men then assaulted the victim and kicked him in the face before they took his wallet and backpack. The suspects ran away, but police believe they are in their early twenties and close to six feet tall.

A second robbery occurred last night before 8 p.m., this one on the 600 block of Greenfield Street. A 17- year-old male was on his way to get a money order when two black men robbed him of cash. One of the suspects had a gun and his face was covered with a red bandana while the other was wearing a black hoodie and had dread locks.
