Wilmington Police: Man getting out of car downtown robbed at gunpoint

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police are investigating after they say a man was robbed at gunpoint when he was getting out of his car parked in downtown Wilmington overnight.

Wilmington Police say it happened at 2 a.m. in the 1200 block of South 3rd Street. That’s where officers say the victim parked his car and was getting out of it when a man walked up to him with a gun.

Police say the victim told them the robber took off with cash heading west on Kidder Street. Officers say no one was hurt during the robbery, but WPD is still investigating.
