Wilmington police on patrol near school spot alleged drug buy
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – Wilmington police patrolling near Williston Middle School late yesterday afternoon ended up arresting a man on drug charges.
It happened just before 5:00 p.m.
Police say officers pulled into Gores Row and saw a man talking to Joseph Johnson, 21, who was on a bike.
Police say officers got out of their cars and spoke with both men. Police say they smelled marijuana on Johnson. They searched him and found heroin, oyx pills and weed.
Police arrested Johnson and charged him with possession with intent to sell/distribute heroin, possession with intent to sell/distribute within 1000 ft of a school, and other drug charges.
Johnson is in jail under a $15,000 bond.
