Wilmington police search for man who forced woman into closet

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – Wilmington police are investigating an early morning home invasion.

It happened just before 1:00 a.m. at a home in the 900 block of N. 30th Street.

Police say a 35-year-old woman heard a knock at her door and opened it to find a masked man with a gun.

Police say the man pushed the woman into her closet and pushed a dresser in front of the door to keep it closed.

Police say the victim heard other people in the home but didn’t see them. The suspects went through the home but didn’t find anything of value.

The woman was not hurt.

Police are still searching for the suspect.

He is wanted for attempted armed robbery and kidnapping.
