Wilmington restaurant receives $1,000 tip

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — As area restaurants opened up their dining rooms over the weekend for the first time since March, one restaurant got an unexpected surprise.

According to a Facebook post by the Famous Toastery, a couple that lives in the area came to enjoy a meal Saturday morning. This was their first trip to the restaurant, and the post describes them as “a truly genuine couple.”

After they finished their meal and left, a hostess noticed the $1,000 tip on a $43.31 check.

The tip was shared with the entire staff.
