Wilmington shooting, manhunt suspect arrested states away

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The third and final suspect involved in a shooting on Klein Road in early August has been arrested, police say.

19-year-old Daniel Reaves is awaiting extradition from a jail in Kenton, Kentucky.

According to a news release, members of the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force from the Wilmington Police Department with assistance from the US Marshals in Kentucky located Reaves last week at a Denny’s diner.

Wilmington Police also say he is the second suspect involved in an officer involved shooting and manhunt near Empie Park, just days after the Klein Road incident.

Reaves, of Wilmington, is charged with probation violation, first degree kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

Police say there could be more charges.

Brittany Moses and Greer Hayes Old were also charged in connection with the shooting on Klein Road.
