Wilmington shooting sends man to the hospital overnight

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are investigating after dispatchers said a shooting early Thursday sent a man to the hospital.

New Hanover County Dispatch said the call came in just after 3:30 a.m., reporting the crime at 618 S. 8th Street.

The witness told dispatchers that two men in jeans ran from the scene.

They said officers got to the scene, officers found a man with a gunshot wound to the forearm. Dispatch said he was taken to the hospital.
