Wilmington shooting victim dies

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The man who was shot in Wilmington yesterday afternoon has died.

It happened in the 100 block of Gores Row around 1 p.m.

Wilmington Police say they found Vincent Lamont Blakely, 35, shot. EMS took him to New Hanover Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Police say a large crowd was in the area when the shooting happened. They’re asking anyone who saw anything to come forward.
