Wilmington superfan turns all-American season journey into book

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — After one Wilmington superfan took his love of the game to new heights two years ago, he now has a story for the books.

Steve Melia, a Cape Fear native and comedian, made a home run of his own during the New York Yankees' 2011 season, attending all 162 games.

Melia has now compiled that 162-game journey into a book, recounting his experiences in the stands.

His book, "162: The Almost Epic Journey of a Yankees Superfan," is now available on his website, www.162yankeegames.com.

Melia stopped by Good Morning Carolina to talk about his new book and newfound career as an author.
