Wilmington theater groups team up for ‘War of the Worlds’ recording

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Big Dawg Productions has teamed up with Panache Theatrical Productions to create a bit of “theater” for audiences to enjoy from home!
The two companies have produced an hour long recreation of the original 1938 Orson Welles broadcast of The War of the Worlds!
The recording stars nine local actors, who recorded their lines from seven different locations. The dialogue was compiled from these separate recordings, then special effects were added to create a fully immersive listening experience.
The piece took several weeks to complete.
The recording is now available. The price of admission is a donation of at least $5 to either company.  Both companies say they are facing economic struggles during this period, and so are patrons.
That is why this event is a ‘pay-what-you-can’ production.
Donate by visiting bigdawgproductions.org or panachetheatre.com and clicking on the “Donate” button. You must enter the code “WOW” and include an email address.
Then you will get a link to the program on Soundcloud.com.
Big Dawg and Panache will be producing more audio theater events until audiences can safely gather again.
