Wilmington Church Celebrates 20 Years

A prominent Wilmington church is celebrating two decades in the Port City.

Pastor Ron Mcgee started the non-denominational “Rock” church in 1988. He held the first service in the Trask middle school library. The church prides itself on catering to the poor and bridging racial gaps. At first there were only fifty congregants. Now, there are hundreds

“We’ve grown as a church, as a family, we’re a church that’s a family, and we love each other and just take care of each other,” said Abbye Printy, Pastor Ron McGee’s daughter.

Sunday, Pastor Ron stepped down as lead pastor and passed the reins over to his son Bryan.
