Wilmington City Council will discuss Skyway Bridge tonight

Tuesday, April 6, City Council meeting, 6:30 p.m. at City Hall
Items of interest on the agenda include:

* Two resolutions related to the proposed Skyway Bridge:

1. Resolution expressing support for preserving land for the bridge, which would serve as a second route for connecting Wilmington and Brunswick County.

2. Resolution requesting annual “gap” funding of approximately $49 million from the North Carolina General Assembly to construct the Skyway Bridge. It is estimated that tolls would cover approximately 55% of the total construction cost.
