Wilmington Police investigate second bank robbery in nine days

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — For the second time in nine days Wilmington Police are investigating a bank robbery. The latest happened just before 10 a.m. Thursday at the New Bridge Bank at 704 S. College Rd.

Investigators say a light-skinned black man about 5’8″ with a medium build wearing dark clothing and tan shoes came in through the back door of the building. He was wearing doo-rag covered by a dark baseball cap. The man had a beard, but a witness said it looked like it may have been drawn on his face. Police say the suspect threatened to use a weapon, but did not show a weapon. The teller handed over some cash, and the man left through the back door. At this point police do not know if the man left on foot or by car.
