Wilmington Police looking for bank robber

The Wilmington Police Department is investigating a bank robbery at the Bank of America, 1929 Carolina Beach Road.

The call was dispatched at 3:18 p.m. Witnesses reported that a man came to the counter, demanded money and threatened bank employees. The robber implied he had a weapon by displaying the object shown in the attached photos. (The object appeared to be wrapped in some kind of white plastic). Employees handed over cash and the man left.

The robber is described as a white male, 6’ – 6’3”, small build, with short brown hair. He was wearing a ball cap imprinted with “OCC,” yellow wrap-around sunglasses, blue jeans, gray plaid shirt and a dark gray trench coat.
