Wilmington traffic stop turns into car chase

An attempted traffic stop turned into a car chase through Wilmington. The chase ended a little before 10:00 P.M. Monday night, with this car backed into a fence at 29th and Lyndon.

The chase started when an officer attempted to pull over the vehicle for a traffic violation on Market Street. At one point during the chase, the driver shut the lights off and went the wrong way up a one way with speeds approaching 60 miles an hour.

Once the car hit the fence, the four males inside ran away.

We’re told the car or the plates may have been stolen.
