Wilmington’s Jewish community marks Hanukkah with downtown celebration
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Dozens of people from the Jewish community came together in downtown Wilmington to celebrate Hanukkah tonight.
There was a juggling show for the kids, dancing and traditional foods. Folks gathered at Riverfront Park after sundown to light the sixth candle on the menorah.
Organizers say everyone can use the message of the holiday in everyday life.
“Hopefully you can light your own little candle and use a little light of acts of goodness and kindness to light up the dark outside,” said Rabbi
This is the fifth year the menorah has been set up along the waterfront. It will stay there for the remainder of the holiday, which ends Thursday.
